Jamal Suleiman enters the “ART” Oscars

According to the London daily Elaph, the famous Syrian actor Jamal Suleiman will be participating in this year’s ‘ART Oscar Festival.’ He is nominated for two awards for his roles in 2008.

 

  • The first nomination is for his role in the television drama series “Ahel Al Rayah” (People oF Al Rayah” and the other is for his role in the film “Baby Doll Night”. The countdown for gathering all the people’s votes is in process and the special festival will be awarding Arab stars for their outstanding performances. The celebration is scheduled for the first week in May in Cairo.
  • There will be 60 different television drama projects from various Arab countries entering the contest and 50 cinema films that vary between drama and comedies. 
  •  “Baby Doll Night” a film that talks about how the events of 11 September have affected Arabs throughout the world. The film was produced in 2008 and its budget reached 40 million Egyptian pounds. The film was produced by “Good News” Production Company and directed by Adel Adeeb.
  •  It is needless to say that back in 2006/2007 Suleiman received the award for best actor for his role in the Egyptian drama series “Hadaiq Al Shaytan” (The Devil’s Garden) at the ART Oscar Festival. The series was a great success in Egypt and throughout the Arab world and it showed Suleiman’s abilities.
